The popular 5-member group, the Wonder Girls, are planning to meet fans with new songs in the second-half of this year.

A party for the Wonder Girls revealed the news to MoneyToday’s StarNews on the 6th stating, “The Wonder Girls, who completed their activities for <Nobody> at the end of last year, won’t be making any appearances in which they sing together as a group during the first-half of the year.”

They added, “The Wonder Girls will be traveling between Korea and the US in order to work on their new songs and they plan to approach their fans with the new songs in the second-half of the year. We hope that people continue to show interest in the Wonder Girls even as they take a break from TV appearances and work hard on their music.”

According to the party, the activities currently on the official schedule for the Wonder Girls’ first-half of the year include a solo-concert event to be held on February 14 and CF filming activities.

After their debut in 2007, the Wonder Girls arose as the “National Little Sisters” with <Tell Me> and seized the on/offline markets last year with their May release, <So Hot>, and <Nobody> which was released in late-September. The Wonder Girls brought their 4th project album activities for <Nobody> to a close on December 31 at MBC’s 2008 Music Festival.

Going all-in on preparations for their February concert in Korea & US concert in March… Now they’re “So Hot” on the stage

By Moon MiYoung @ Sports HanKook

The group Wonder Girls is putting a hold on its broadcast activities.

The Wonder Girls are taking a break from their domestic broadcast activities in order to prepare for their first solo-concert after their debut which will be held on February 14.

A representative from the Wonder Girls’ management company revealed, “They have plans to take a rest from broadcast activities, as well as other entertainment activities, until after the solo-concert. The members are planning to fully immerse themselves in preparations for their first domestic concert in February and their March US tour.”

The Wonder Girls have been established as Korea’s top female idol group after charting consecutive hits <Tell Me>, <So Hot>, and <Nobody>. On February 14, Valentine’s Day, they will take to the stage before 5000 seats just 3 years after debuting.

The Wonder Girls officially entered into the preparation stage for their concert only recently after concluding their activities for <Nobody>. They have plans to depart for the US at the end of January to wrap up any broadcasts & performances that have been scheduled and will dive into concert preparations as soon as they return home.

Wonder Girls member YooBin stated, “We’ve had appearances scheduled practically everyday since the middle of last year. I don’t think we’ll have a chance to see our domestic fans for the time being. We’re preparing hard so we can give an awesome performance at our concert. I hope our fans look forward to seeing a more developed and mature Wonder Girls in the future.”

BYJ & JYP’s Drama Collaboration “The Wonder Girls Are Not the Lead Actors”
By Lee HyunWoo @ Newsen (newsen@newsen.com

Once BYJ and JYP join hands to co-produce their first drama project, their collaborative effort will provide considerable insight into their prospects in the Korean and general Asian market.

Bae YongJun’s KeyEast and Park Jin Young’s JYPE are set to establish a provisional joint corporation shortly to back their investment and jump into official production stage for their drama.

However, it has been announced that this drama will not feature the Wonder Girls in the lead roles. The drama is also not being made with the group’s foray into the American market in mind. According to plans, the lead actors will be chosen in an open audition which will be held once the provisional corporation between the two companies has been established.
